In 2014, the city of Winterthur is celebrating its 750th anniversary as a chartered town with municipal rights. In the same year, Switzerland and Japan are honouring 150 years of friendship between the two nations. In fact, Winterthur played a major role in the history of Swiss-Japanese cooperation. Sulzer, a Winterthur-based corporation, was one of the first Swiss manufacturers to build business ties with Japan. These two anniversaries are worthy of celebration, and Location Promotion Winterthur Region is therefore organising a variety of activities in collaboration with selected partners.
